We are an American couple who have been permanent New Zealand residents since August of 2006. Currently, we are splitting our time between the U.S. and New Zealand until we can sell our business in the U.S. We own and operate a 25 acre nursery business specializing in Japanese Maples there in the Pacific Northwest State of Washington.
If you are curious about our business, our website is here: Woods Creek Nursery. Sorry, we don't ship internationally [smile].
We've both had quite varied careers over the years and are very much looking forward to shifting to New Zealand permanently and investing ourselves fully into our new country.
My wife has a Masters Degree in International Business and traveled the world extensively for 15 years. Are you setting up international distributors? Are you trying to writing bullet-proof business contracts? She's your lady.
I have a degree in Medical Microbiology but I've spent most of my working life deeply involved with computers as a programmer. I run a small programming business now on the side which you may find of interest. Its website is here: SamadhiCoda. The website you are looking at now is one of my products.
When we purchased the apartment in 2006, we found it to be very clean and well maintained. Since then, we have taken excellent care of it. There are, for example, no cooking or smoking smells from previous tenants. We are both quite sensitive to this sort of thing.
As you will see in the many photogaphs of the apartment, there's a lot of art work with an oriental motif on the walls. My wife is an artist and when she redecorated the apartment, she was into oriental images at the time. Of course, if you would prefer to put your own art up, we'd have no objection and we can arrange to have our stuff taken down and stored.
The place really is a pleasure. We've each stayed there for extensive periods of time and find it an easy place to live and very convenient for access to Hagley Park and the CBD. In the summer time, if you are a tennis player (I am), you'll find plenty of folks ready to play.
The on-site apartment complex manager, Keith West, is a good friend of ours and he acts as our property manager for the apartment when we're out of the country. So, you have no worries if there's a problem with the apartment; Keith is just downstairs - a phone call away.
Thank you for your interest!
